The goal—to mentor younger moderators, create educational materials, including public articles, topic-centric events, and more, around safety on Discord.
Policy Programs
In 2021, I was referred to join one of Discord's policy program—the "Discord Moderator Discord" community. These programs created and scaled an ecosystem of community resources, connecting users, community moderators, civil society, and academic groups directly with Discord's safety, policy, marketing, and product teams.
In May of the same year, I was selected to assist in launching a new policy program community, the "Moderator Mentorship Community," aimed at mentoring younger moderators aged 13-18, as part of Discord's efforts to make its policy programs more accessible. I became an integral part to the success of the community, and my role expanded to include additional responsibilities, where I collaborated directly with stakeholders across different departments, overhauled the program's onboarding flow, and much more.
Community Management Contractor
In July 2022, I was invited to join the Discord Moderator Program as a Topic Specialist in Communities and Gaming. Later, the position was altered to contract-based, and I became a Community Management Contractor consulting with Discord through Keywords Studios on launching VIP communities.
