BeluGANG
The goal—to stabilize BeluGANG’s 700,000+ member Discord by building scalable moderation systems: playbooks, escalation paths, documentation, and custom bots.
Challenge
BeluGANG had grown to over 700,000 users without the internal foundations needed to run a stable Discord: no shared playbook, no consistent enforcement standards, no clear escalation ladder for edge cases, and little to no documentation. The result was predictable: newcomers hesitated to particpate meaningfully, conversations derailed easily, and moderators were forced to make judgment calls in-the-moment with no system to lean on.
Results
I, in collaboration with a former colleague and fellow consultant, rebuilt the operation around repeatable structure and introduced two content moderation utility bots, one fully-coded uniquely to the needs of the community. Introduced clear escalation paths, internal moderation guidelines, decision principles, and moderation hiring and training flows. I also defined escalation routes for high-risk content and repeat behavior.
While most of my client reviews are NDA-protected (because, you know, top-secret agency white label stuff), I managed to sneak in a few favorites from my previous partners.
